Vivekachudamani 232

satyam yadi syajjagad etad atmano'
nantattvahanirnigamapramanata |
asatyavaditvamapisituh sya-
nnaitattrayam sadhu hitam mahatmanam ||
(Sankaracarya's Vivekachudamani 232)

If the universe, as it is, is Real, the Self (Atman) would not be Infinite, the scriptures would be false, the Lord himself would be guilty of having spoken an untruth. None of these three is considered either desirable or beneficial by the Great Ones.

As a conditioned soul, if we think that this world is real after understanding so many instructions of Sripad Sankaracarya that we are living in an illusion world then our souls will be infinite, the scriptural injunctions will be false, all that is spoken in the Vedas by the Lord will be lies. So those three will not be beneficial for the Lord who is the Param Satyam. The Supreme Godhead is the absolute truth. There is no reason for him to deviate from his creation. Lies and misconception is only for the jivatma.

பிரபஞ்சம், உண்மையானது என்றால், சுய (ஆத்மா) எல்லையற்றதாக இருக்காது, வேதங்கள் பொய்யாக இருக்கும், ஒரு பொய்யைப் பேசியதாக இறைவன் குற்றவாளி. இந்த மூன்றில் எதுவுமே பெரியவர்களால் விரும்பத்தக்கதாகவோ அல்லது பயனளிப்பதாகவோ கருதப்படவில்லை.

ஒரு நிபந்தனைக்குட்பட்ட ஆத்மாவாக, நாம் ஒரு மாயையான உலகில் வாழ்கிறோம் என்று ஸ்ரீபாத் சங்கராச்சாரியாவின் பல அறிவுறுத்தல்களைப் புரிந்துகொண்ட பிறகு இந்த உலகம் உண்மையானது என்று நாம் நினைத்தால், நம்முடைய ஆத்மாக்கள் எல்லையற்றதாக இருக்கும், வேதப்பூர்வ உத்தரவுகள் பொய்யாக இருக்கும், வேதங்களில் பேசப்படும் அனைத்தும் கர்த்தரால் பொய்கள் இருக்கும். எனவே அந்த மூவரும் பரம் சத்யமாக இருக்கும் இறைவனுக்கு பயனளிக்க மாட்டார்கள். உச்ச கடவுள் என்பது முழுமையான உண்மை. அவர் தனது படைப்பிலிருந்து விலகுவதற்கு எந்த காரணமும் இல்லை. பொய்கள் மற்றும் தவறான கருத்து ஜீவத்மாவுக்கு மட்டுமே.

Jika alam semesta, sebagaimana adanya, adalah Nyata, Diri (Atman) tidak akan Tanpa Batas, tulisan suci akan salah, Tuhan sendiri akan bersalah karena telah mengatakan ketidakbenaran. Tidak satu pun dari ketiga hal ini yang dianggap diinginkan atau bermanfaat oleh Yang Agung.

Sebagai jiwa terkondisi, jika kita berpikir bahwa dunia ini nyata setelah memahami begitu banyak instruksi dari Sripad Sankaracarya bahwa kita hidup di dunia ilusi maka jiwa kita akan tak terbatas, perintah kitab suci akan salah, semua yang diucapkan dalam Veda oleh Tuhan akan dusta. Jadi ketiganya tidak akan bermanfaat bagi Tuhan yang adalah Param Satyam. Tuhan Yang Maha Esa adalah kebenaran absolut. Tidak ada alasan baginya untuk menyimpang dari ciptaannya. Kebohongan dan kesalahpahaman hanya untuk jivatma.
