Vivekachudamani 219

ghatam jalam tadgatamarkabimbam 

vihaya sarvam viniriksyate'rkah | 

tatastha etattritayavabhasakah 

svayamprakaso viduso yatha tatha || 

(Sankaracarya's Vivekachudamani 219) 

The wise person leaves aside the jar, the water, and the reflection of the sun in it and sees the self-luminous sun. So too, the wise realize the Self-luminous Reality which illumines "these three" and recognizes It as independent of them all. 

In the previous sloka, Sripada Sankaracarya explains 'The ignorant, on seeing the reflection of the sun in the water in a jar, considers it to be the sun itself. So too, the ignorant through delusion identifies himself with the reflection of the consciousness appearing in the intellect and considers it to be the 'I' his own Self". 

In this sloka, he explains that the wise person will see water, jar, and sun separately. One will not see the reflection of the sun as the sun itself. We human beings should not be in Maya, we should come to an understanding that the sun and sun's reflection is different. Similarly one should see the body differently from the soul. The body moving because of the soul. Without the soul, the body will not function.

Orang bijak menyisihkan toples, air, dan pantulan matahari di dalamnya dan melihat matahari yang bercahaya. Demikian juga, orang bijak menyadari Realitas bercahaya-Diri yang menerangi "ketiganya" dan mengenalinya sebagai tidak tergantung pada mereka semua.

Dalam sloka sebelumnya, Sripada Sankaracarya menjelaskan 'Si bodoh, saat melihat pantulan matahari di air dalam sebuah wadah, menganggapnya sebagai matahari itu sendiri. Demikian juga, orang yang bodoh melalui khayalan mengidentifikasikan dirinya dengan cerminan dari kesadaran yang muncul dalam intelek dan menganggapnya sebagai 'Aku' dirinya sendiri ".

Dalam sloka ini, ia menjelaskan bahwa orang bijak akan melihat air, kendi, dan matahari secara terpisah. Seseorang tidak akan melihat pantulan matahari sebagai matahari itu sendiri. Kita manusia tidak seharusnya berada di Maya, kita harus memahami bahwa matahari dan pantulan matahari berbeda. Demikian pula seseorang harus melihat tubuh secara berbeda dari jiwa. Tubuh bergerak karena jiwa. Tanpa jiwa, tubuh tidak akan berfungsi

புத்திசாலி ஜாடி, நீர், சூரியனின் பிரதிபலிப்பு ஆகியவற்றை ஒதுக்கி வைத்துவிட்டு, சுய ஒளிரும் சூரியனைப் பார்க்கிறார். எனவே, ஞானிகள் சுய ஒளிரும் யதார்த்தத்தை உணர்ந்து, இது "இந்த மூன்றையும்" ஒளிரச் செய்கிறது, மேலும் அவை அனைத்திலிருந்தும் சுயாதீனமாக இருப்பதை அங்கீகரிக்கிறது.

முந்தைய ஸ்லோகாவில், ஸ்ரீபாத சங்கராசர்யா விளக்குகிறார், 'அறிவற்றவர்கள், ஒரு குடுவையில் தண்ணீரில் சூரியனின் பிரதிபலிப்பைக் கண்டதும், அது சூரியனே என்று கருதுகிறது. அவ்வாறே, மாயையின் மூலம் அறியாதவர் புத்தியில் தோன்றும் நனவின் பிரதிபலிப்புடன் தன்னை அடையாளப்படுத்தி, அதை 'நான்' தனது சொந்த சுயமாக கருதுகிறார்.

இந்த ஸ்லோகாவில், ஞானமுள்ளவர் தண்ணீர், ஜாடி மற்றும் சூரியனை தனித்தனியாக பார்ப்பார் என்று விளக்குகிறார். ஒருவர் சூரியனின் பிரதிபலிப்பை சூரியனாகவே பார்க்க மாட்டார். மனிதர்களான நாம் மாயாவில் இருக்கக்கூடாது, சூரியன் மற்றும் சூரியனின் பிரதிபலிப்பு வேறுபட்டது என்ற புரிதலுக்கு நாம் வர வேண்டும். இதேபோல் ஒருவர் உடலை ஆன்மாவிலிருந்து வித்தியாசமாகப் பார்க்க வேண்டும். ஆன்மா காரணமாக உடல் நகரும். ஆன்மா இல்லாமல், உடல் செயல்படாது.
