Sankaracarya's Vivekachudamani 402
द्रष्टुदर्शनदृश्यादिभावशून्यैकवस्तुनि ।
निर्विकारे निराकारे निर्विशेषे भिदा कुतः ॥
draṣṭudarśanadṛśyādibhāvaśūnyaikavastuni |
nirvikāre nirākāre nirviśeṣe bhidā kutaḥ ||
(Sankaracarya's Vivekachudamani 401)
In the One Reality devoid of the distinctions of the seer, seeing, and seen, etc., how can there be any distinctions in that which is Changeless, Formless, and Absolute?
The Lord is one, there cannot be hundreds of Gods. In our dharma, we may call varieties name for God but he is only one. We must understand that carefully the One and only is expanding to others.
There are different meanings in the basic word see. Seer- a person who sees, Seeing-action of seeing and Seen-past participle of see. But although in one word the basic activity is seen the meaning is different although The Lord is Paramatma, Brahman, and Bhagavan, he is still the same God. There is no difference in his potency.
