Sankaracarya's Vivekachudamani 477
बन्धो मोक्षश्च तृप्तिश्च चिन्तारोग्यक्षुदादयः ।
स्वेनैव वेद्या यज्ज्ञानं परेषामानुमानिकम् ॥
bandho mokṣaśca tṛptiśca cintārogyakṣudādayaḥ |
svenaiva vedyā yajjñānaṃ pareṣāmānumānikam ||
(Sankaracarya's Vivekachudamani 477)
Bondage and liberation, contentment and anxiety, health, hunger, etc. are directly known only by the person concerned; others have knowledge of these by mere inference.
The self-realized soul will never lament any kind of situation, their focus will only to serve and think about the Supreme Personality of Godhead. But those who do not much understanding of the Lord and soul have to go through miseries in their daily life. These miseries and sorrows will cause so much distress in them unless they understand that God is always with them and all those material miseries cannot do anything to the Self(soul). One must to that higher understanding.
