Sankaracarya's Vivekachudamani 421

वैराग्यस्य फलं बोधो बोधस्योपरतिः फलम् ।
स्वानन्दानुभवाच्छान्तिरेषैवोपरतेः फलम् ॥

vairāgyasya phalaṃ bodho bodhasyoparatiḥ phalam |
svānandānubhavācchāntireṣaivoparateḥ phalam ||
(Sankaracarya's Vivekachudamani 421)

The reward of dispassion is knowledge, that knowledge is withdrawal from sense pleasures. The reward of this withdrawal is the peace arising from the experience of one‘s own Blissful Self.

Sometimes our mind will keep away from devotion, to win distraction we have to get transcendental knowledge to make us realize ourselves and the creator. When we get closer to the Lord or get a higher taste of spiritual life, we will lose attraction in sense of pleasure. Ultimately such attraction and experience will lead one to peace and get more bhakti than seeking material pleasure. As human beings, we should focus our mind and intelligence to get the peace that arises from surrendering to the Lord Mukuntha.
