Sankaracarya's Vivekachudamani 473

निरस्तरागा विनिरस्तभोगाः
शान्ताः सुदान्ता यतयो महान्तः ।
विज्ञाय तत्त्वं परमेतदन्ते
प्राप्ताः परां निर्वृतिमात्मयोगात् ॥

nirastarāgā vinirastabhogāḥ
śāntāḥ sudāntā yatayo mahāntaḥ |
vijñāya tattvaṃ parametadante
prāptāḥ parāṃ nirvṛtimātmayogāt ||
(Sankaracarya's Vivekachudamani 473)

Noble-hearted renunciates who have abandoned all attachments and discarded all sense-enjoyments, who are calm and controlled, realize this supreme Truth. And at the end, they gain Bliss Supreme as a result of their Self-realization.

Self-realization's ultimate goal is to understand that "I am eternal servant of God." That's all. This is self-realization. So long one is identifying oneself with this material world, with this body, with this mind, it is not self-realization. Self-realization means that I am spirit, and the Supreme Lord is also spirit, so I am part and parcel of the Supreme. One has given up enjoying the world and be sober always. Those who could practice the bhakti and self-realization process attentively will attain the Supreme Lord or Mukti.
