KASSITES

Also in the region of Iran and West Asia, we find the Kassites, just before 2000 BCE. These were Indo-Aryan people in Iran. They invaded Babylon around 1760 BCE. They worshiped Vedic deities and ruled Babylon for over 500 years after they had removed the Hammurabi empire. Though they adopted the speech and traditions of Babylon, they still worshiped Surias (Vedic Surya), Maruttas (Vedic Marutas), and Indabugas (Vedic Indra and Bhaga, or Bhagavan). The Kassites were a group from the Vedic Purus. The Kassite gods were also named similar to the Vedic gods, as shown by these few examples:
