Sankaracarya's Vivekachudamani 422
यद्युत्तरोत्तराभावः पूर्वपूर्वन्तु निष्फलम् ।
निवृत्तिः परमा तृप्तिरानन्दोऽनुपमः स्वतः ॥
yadyuttarottarābhāvaḥ pūrvapūrvantu niṣphalam |
nivṛttiḥ paramā tṛptirānando'nupamaḥ svataḥ ||
(Sankaracarya's Vivekachudamani 422)
When there are no succeeding stages, the preceding ones are useless. (In a perfect series), automatic cessation of the objective world, supreme satisfaction and unequalled Bliss will follow naturally.
Since this temporary material world is full of the miseries of birth, old age, disease, death, and also in this material world everything very difficult and there is danger at every step. In that stage, one may feel total lost in life. Even we forget the Lord but the Lord always following us and waiting for us to realize him.
