Sankaracarya's Vivekachudamani 487

नमो नमस्ते गुरवे महात्मने
विमुक्तसङ्गाय सदुत्तमाय ।
नित्याद्वयानन्दरसस्वरूपिणे
भूम्ने सदापारदयाम्बुधाम्ने ॥

namo namaste gurave mahātmane
vimuktasaṅgāya saduttamāya |
nityādvayānandarasasvarūpiṇe
bhūmne sadāpāradayāmbudhāmne ||
(Sankaracarya's Vivekachudamani 487)

Salutations to thee, O noble Guru, who art free from attachments, best of the best among the noble ones, the embodiment of the essence Eternal, Non-dual Bliss, who art endless, ever the shoreless ocean of compassion.

In this sloka Sripad Sankaracarya reminding us that only by Guru's mercy we could able to attain moksha. By paying humble obeisances to the bonafide guru whose teaching is universal, the true guru who never falls to any material attraction who is chosen by the Lord himself. Such a guru's teaching has no end and merciful to all living beings.
