(Sankaracarya's Vivekachudamani 388)
Right from Brahma down to a blade of grass, all conditioning adjuncts (upadhis) are quite unreal. Therefore, one should realize one‘s own Self as one and only existent Principle.
Sankaracarya is quoting that from Brahma ji till a blade of grass all are condition souls. They are just part and parcel of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Nothing to be proud about or to below. The most important role of our birth is to understand that we are souls which came from the Supreme Lord.
Understanding the soul and from where it came from is the prime goal of this life. Without understanding that we are souls, this human life will be wasted. This body is a machine which were given to us to understand the goal of the soul and the Paramatma.
The material world and its happiness will not take us to anywhere. Therefore we have to be focused about the meaning of our birth, this is the message from Sripada Sankaracarya.
