Srinivasa goes to the forest for hunting under the lovely care of Vakula devi, Srinivasa was spending his time very happily in Venkatachalam. As day thus passed, one day Srinivasa felt he should go for hunting. He inforned this to his mother. Vakula devi said, "Dear son, you are too tender a lad. How can you face wild beast? Some how, I fear very much. Why should you go for hunting. Please desist."

Srinivasa said, "fear not, dear mother. The wild beasts cannot harm me. Don't you know my capacity permit me to fulfill this small desire."

Vakuladevi did not object further. She blessed him success and asked him to return soon.

Srinivasa wore a hunter's dress. He took his bow and arrow. The taking leave of his mother, he went towards the forest. When Srinivasa raised his bow and threw the arrow, it made a thundering noise and the whole forest echoed. Hearing that sound the wild beast ran helter skelter for shelter in terrible fear.

Availing this opportunity, Srinivasa aimed sharped arrows and killed lions, tigers, pigs etc, chased elephants and created a great havoc in the forest.

One haughty elephant trumpeted and made a great noise. Srivasa ran towards the direction of the sound and chased the animals. As he could not make pace with the elephant, he prayed to Brahma. Immediately a white horse appeared before him. Galloping on the horse, Srinivasa followed the elephant. After running some distance, the elephant lifted it's trunk, saluted Srinivasa and disappeared.

Srinivasa felt pleased at the elephant saluting him. He gave up hunting those dumb animals. He then entered a garden that was near by. He found a tank there and went near it to quench this thirst and have some rest.
