Tirupathi Sri Venketeswara Story and Mahatyam Part 1

Suta Goswami tells Saunakya Rishi and other sages.

Naimisharanya is a dense forest in Bharath. Saunaka and other sages lived in this forest. They spent their time here in penance. Hence this forest is considered very sacred.

Once Suta Goswami explained to those sages the eighteen puranas which written by Vyasa deva, his Guru. The sages heard him devotedly. During this period, Saunaka and others had a desire to hear from him the story of Sri Venketeswara. So they requested Suta Goswami to narrate to them that story also. He readily agreed, since he considered it a great pleasure to do so.

He said: "Sri Venketeswara was born on earth as a saviour to help and protect men. He is an incarnation of Maha Vishnu on earth. He is the God, visible - 'Prathyaksa daivam'. he is always ready to answer the calls of his bhaktas. He comes to their aid when in difficulties at all times and in all circumstances. So His story is a sacred one. You are very fortunate to hear the same.

All those who read His story and those who hear it and those who visit his sacred temple and have his darshan will be devoid of rebirth and attain mukti. So you hear me devotedly".

Suta Goswami intellectually prayed to his Guru, Vyasa Deva. Immediately the story of Sri Venketeswara reeled before his mind. He then began to narrate the story to Saunaka and other sages sitting before him.
