Sankaracarya's Vivekachudamani 576

सकलनिगमचूडास्वान्तसिद्धान्तरूपं

परमिदमतिगुह्यं दर्शितं ते मयाद्य ।

अपगतकलिदोषं कामनिर्मुक्तबुद्धिं

स्वसुतवदसकृत्त्वां भाव्यित्वा मुमुक्षुम् ॥

sakalanigamacūḍāsvāntasiddhāntarūpaṃ

paramidamatiguhyaṃ darśitaṃ te mayādya |

apagatakalidoṣaṃ kāmanirmuktabuddhiṃ

svasutavadasakṛttvāṃ bhāvyitvā mumukṣum ||

Considering you to be a seeker after liberation, void of the taints of this Dark Age, with a mind free from desires, I have today revealed to you, again and again, as I would to my own son, the supreme and profound secret, the inmost essence of Vedanta, the crown of all Vedas.

Sankaracarya with a lot of compassion towards all of us is revealing again and again that we should seek liberation. This world doesn't belong to us. We are simply suffering in this world every moment. It's just because of Maya or illusion we are trying to enjoy this material world but we took birth to learn about the Supreme Lord and go back to him. All the great acaryas and the Vedas told us the same points but we human are simply adamant and ignoring the care which given to us. The mind will divert to 1000 things but all those might not favorable for your liberation. We should just focus our minds on liberation. Otherwise, the mind will not be controlled.
