Death and Dying
Is death the permanent end of life, or just the end of a temporary material designation (the body)? Why does the prospect of death make us upset? What happens after death?
Answer: One of Krishna’s first instructions in the Bhagavad Gita is that no one ever dies. We’re all eternal. Only our bodies “die.” We go on living, either in another material, temporary body or in a permanent, spiritual body.
Death is an illusion we have imposed upon ourselves because of our desires to enjoy in this world.
