Reiki
Reiki is said to have come from Japan. Reeiki is a healing art which deals with universal (rei) life-force (ki). However, it has its roots in the Ayurveda and a long history in India. It was rediscovered by a person named Usui from Sanskrit Buddhist scriptures in the Japanese monasteries. The practitioner transfers ki or prana to marma points o, one's body. This creates a more natural flow of prana which causes a higher level of balance in the subtle body. This can help cure or prevent disease.
Marma points are the acupuncture or acupressure points on the skin through which the nadis, as we understand from Ayurveda and the science of yoga, can be affected or adjusted for a better flow of prana, life-force. The nadis are the nerve-like channels through which flows the life force in the subtle body. This knowledge was first explained in the Vedic literature of India and, again, has only recently been rediscovered.
