Hindu influence in Indonesia

The statue depicted a Mahabharata or Bharatayudha epic; Krishna riding the chariot with Arjuna holding a bow and arrow, the chariot is being pulled by eleven divine horses.

When President Soeharto visited Turkey in 1987, he saw there many monuments that explain stories, past Turkey in the streets protocol. President Suharto realized that he did not meet in joint protocol roads in Jakarta, so he initiated the construction of a monument containing the philosophy of Indonesia. Through the story eventually Mahabharata War was used as the final manifestation of the idea behind the statue Arjuna Wijaya.

"Arjuna Wijaya" itself means "victory of Arjuna", which tells of his victory in defense of truth and courage, a symbol of appreciation for the properties of knights. Arjuna Wijaya statue is a statue that is the symbol that the law must be upheld indiscriminately.
