Papavinasa Theertham
Long ago there lived a Brahmin names Bhadravathi. He had six wives, all of whom bore children. So the brahmin had a very big family. He could not not make both ends meet. Children had to starve without food. The Brahmin did not know what to do.
His sixth wife, Yasovathi was very intelligent. She could not bear her husband's suffering. She told her husbandof having heard Narada advising her father that who ever bathes in Papavinasanam and gifts a piece of land will be blessed with wealth and happiness both in this world and the other world. So, you please do likewise and get relieved of this poverty and suffering, she said.
The brahmin thought that it was a good suggestion given in the time. He went to a near by agraharam and got a bhudhan(land charity) of about 3 cubits of land from a grihasta(married man). he then proceeded to Tirumala and bathed in Papavinasanam. He gifted that land to another brahmin, has the darshan of Lord Venkateswara and returned home. he was surprised to see a thorough change in his home with the members of the family spending their time merrily. He spent his remaining period wealthy and healthy.
