The early Manichaeism

Manichaeism (in New Persian Āyīn-e Mānī; Chinese: pinyin: Móníjiào) is a former major religion founded in the 3rd century CE by the Parthian prophet Mani (CE 216–274), in the Sasanian Empire.

The religion Manichaeism is a mixture religion of Hinduism and Buddhism.

Manichaeism spread with extraordinary speed through both the East and West. It reached Rome through the apostle Psattiq by 280, who was also in Egypt in 244 and 251. It was flourishing in the Faiyum in 290.

Manichaean monasteries existed in Rome in 312 during the time of Pope Miltiades.

In 291, persecution arose in the Sasanian Empire with the murder of the apostle Sisin by Emperor Bahram II and the slaughter of many Manichaeans. Then, in 302, the first official reaction and legislation against Manichaeism from the Roman state to Manichaeism were issued under Diocletian. In an official edict called the De Maleficiis et Manichaeism compiled in the Collatio Legum Mosaicarum et Romanorum and addressed to the proconsul of Africa, Diocletian wrote.

The religion was once a major religion practiced by North Asian and central Asian countries such as Afghanistan and Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan. The Uighur people were previously followers of Manichaeism.

Manichaeism teaches an elaborate dualistic cosmology describing the struggle between a good, spiritual world of light, and an evil, material world of darkness. Through an ongoing process that takes place in human history, light is gradually removed from the world of matter and returned to the world of light, whence it came.

After the beginning of Islam, fear, sword, and other atrocities were used against the devotee of Mani practicer to renounce their religion. Their temples were destroyed and their entire lives were changed. Today the countries which practiced Manichean are Muslim countries. This shows if we reduce our devotion by following the current trends and other material factors may break the peaceful practitioners' good qualities. Therefore we should take this as a lesson to restore Sanatana Dharma which is the oldest in the world.
