TIRUTTANI-Tamil Nadu

This temple is situated on a hillock on the Madras- Bombay Railway line, 84 Kms from Madras.

Lord Subramanya gives darshan along with Valli and Devasena –after his anger caused by his battle with Soorapadman and friction with the hunters on account of Valli being quenched. Hence the name Tiruttani.

One of the trinity of Carnatic Music Muthuswamy Dikshitar is reported to have got the inspiration for his creative music at Tiruttani. Adi Kritigai Theppa (float) utsavanm and tiruppadi vizha on the eve of the new year, attracts a large number of devotees.
