This rare photograph is of the original Murthy of Sri Ramanujacarya in Srirangam. After Sri Ramanujacharya attained Samadhi, his disciples applied a paste of camphor, saffron, and sandal to preserve his transcendental body. Since then this paste is applied on the body regularly. On close view, one can see nails that protrude out of the paste. Sri Ramanujacharya is an incarnation of Lakshamana. Rama-anuja. Anuja means the younger brother.
